Louise O’Sullivan Counselling and Mediation in Surry Hills and Newtown

Louise O’Sullivan

Louise O’Sullivan brings over thirty years of experience working with individuals, couples, families, children and adolescents. Louise holds a Masters of Social Work; a Graduate Diploma in Dispute Resolution; a Graduate Diploma in Couple and Family Therapy and a Bachelor of Social Work.

Louise maintains National Accreditation as a Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner (FDRP) and is registered with the Attorney-General’s Department, specialising in post-separation parenting and financial matters. She is registered to issue 60I Certificates as required.

Louise guides couples and families through crisis and stressful experiences or events. She facilitates couples to resolve relationship difficulties and enables those in need of assistance toward separation.

Louise has extensive experience working with children and adolescents individually and within family therapy with a range of presenting concerns. She is also passionate about her child focused approach during and post separation.

Louise also works with individual adults to assist with a range of issues including confidence/self- esteem; alcohol and drug use; anger-management; depression, anxiety, trauma; grief and loss; separation and sexuality.

Before starting a Private Practice Louise worked for many years as an Adolescent and Family Therapist within Education. She has significant experience working with children and adolescents with behavioural concerns and their parents. Louise has also worked in out of home care and crisis services with adolescents. She has worked as a Mediator and Trainer for the Attorney General’s Department and with large scale community disputes. Counselling services are provided with Medicare rebates.

Kerri McFarlane

Kerri McFarlane is passionate about emotional wellbeing and working with her clients to achieve their personal goals and live the best life possible.

Kerri McFarlane has a Masters of Social Work and Bachelor of Business Majoring in Human Resources. She has worked in Executive Leadership roles for 15 years. With 5 years experience working in both Private Practice and Employee Assistance Programs (EAP). Kerri specialises in Individuals, Couples and Trauma counselling.

She uses the Gottman Model for couples work and has an interest in supporting couples through difficult periods to find solutions for the future.

Beth Wilcock

Beth is a Registered Psychologist who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of children and young people struggling with mental health concerns. After 16 years of experience working as a School Psychologist Beth has supported young people with a wide range of concerns.  Beth has a warm and calm manner that helps clients feel comfortable in the therapeutic environment.

Beth draws from evidence-based interventions to get the best outcome for the client, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

Beth has a Bachelor of Psychology, a Graduate Diploma of Education and a Postgraduate Certificate in Professional Psychological Practice.

Appointments are available on weekdays, and after hours where necessary.

You do not need to obtain a referral to attend an appointment, however you may wish to obtain a GP Mental Health Care Plan. Please discuss this option when you are making your initial appointment.
